I looked these up for someone this morning and decided to save the links here, in case I want to get to them later. So many sites have gone down in the last few years and it seems like there used to be more than this.

Mistakenly Inhuman, Often Amoral, and Always Unrepentant: A Lindsey McDonald Nutshell Analysis

Evil's Not the Point: Lindsey McDonald and Power in Angel Season 5

It always points true north

Loving To Hate You (or how to write Lindsey and Angel as Enemies)

Moral ambiguity: Lindsey McDonald

Born Again Boy

Shipper's Manifesto:Angel/Lindsey

If any of you know of a good meta essay on Lindsey McDonald that I don't have listed above or have written one yourself, could you drop me a comment with the link? I'd appreciate it muchly.

I've been reading Celestial Light/Butterfly Ops by [livejournal.com profile] alexandrahuxley. It's a Buffy/Riley fic that I somehow managed to miss. If you like B/R and haven't read it, I highly recommend it.

~~~~~~~~~~
This afternoon, I was showing one of my nephews why I use my Windstream search engine most of the time (instead of Google or Yahoo) and I found out that Burning Imprints was recced at a site called Whispered Words. It's a multi-fandom slash recommendation database (from a Yahoo group list, I think). I'm not familiar with the name of the person who rec'd BI but thank you! Finding that out of the blue was just neat. *G*
Also, I'd like to thank the person who nominated Burning Imprints at The Forbidden Awards awhile back. It didn't win but I didn't care about that. It was the first time anybody nominated a fic of mine for anything and I was very flattered that somebody thought enough of it to do that. I don't know who did it, since the nomination was anonymous but would like to say thank you anyway. It meant a lot to me.
~~~~~~~~~~

I just got through watching Steel Magnolias on the Oxygen channel and they just showed a commercial for TabuToys.com and then right afterward, a commercial for a children's cartoon DVD that Disney's putting out.

......

Yeah, I dunno how or why that happened either but it was weird seeing them back-to-back like that.

Remember when it was such a riot?
Now there's spoilered math on the board
Sitting there like an old magic gourd
Giving some of us an awful fright.

This weekend's Finish The Limerick challenge was

A girl who lived in Sunnydale Used to carry her blood in a pail )

Bonus limericks rhyming with Leather Jacket's typo:

A girl who lived in Sunnydale
Used to carry her blood in a pale
When the vamps came a sniffing
She gave them a sticking
And their dust blew away in a gale.

by Algerina

A girl who lived in Sunnydale
Used to carry her blood in a pale
"Sometimes while I'm musin'
I need a transfusion."
No wonder she always looked pale.

A girl who lived in Sunnydale
Used to carry her blood in a pale
She kept it on ice,
which would hardly suffice
But she liked to have vamps on her tail.

As promised, now is the time to announce the 3 Top Winners for the Second Annual Sunnydale Library Contest.

Again, everyone did a terrific job, and as you can tell by the long process the judges took to reach a consensus, this wasn't easy. They want to pass along their praise, and that they enjoyed reading each and every story, be it odd, short, loooong, or just plain silly.

Without further ado, your winners, based on the flexible rules, how well the story reflected the Buffy Universe/canon as it's known, and creativity:

Third Place:

The only Tie, which the judges thought should stand b/c of the excellence of both stories.

A Thousand Miles From Nowhere by CaughtNTheQuiet and A Star in the Night Sky by VampSlayer.

Second Place for the Second Annual Sunnydale Library Contest:

Workin' for the VFA by neonate.

*Drum Roll Please*

Bonus non-Bronze limerick by [livejournal.com profile] strangecreature

A man with an angelic face
Was tired of his lot and his place
So he laid one on Wes,
Cried "You want me! Confess!"
And atop his desk got to third base.

ETA-

A man with an angelic face
Was tired of his lot and his place
So, feeling right bouncy,
He had sex with Lindsey...

Definition of a limerick: a kind of humorous verse of five lines, in which the first, second, and fifth lines rhyme with each other, and the third and fourth lines, which are shorter, form a rhymed couplet.

There are no wrong answers (though there are bad puns).

Wednesday's challenge limericks:

There once was a perky young girl Who thought she'd give slaying a whirl )

Bonus not-related limerick from [livejournal.com profile] gracielu:

The redhead was once into boys
But they left her so she turned to toys
Then she met a cute witch
Who helped scratch her itch
And showed her a new world of joys.

Extra bonus from [livejournal.com profile] strangecreature:

With those words, our lives were forever changed, altered by a world of Vampires and Demons, a lone Slayer and her Watcher, and her witty, and yet cunning, "Scooby Gang".

We would come to find out that there was much more to the World of the Slayer than we had previously been told - a plethora of stories and accounts of Slayers Before, Slayers to Come, and Slayers who would work beside Buffy herself.

Some of their stories are about to be told...
