Drabble: Missed You (Lindsey/Angel)
Aug. 10th, 2011 08:52 pmPrompted by
adrililith.
Prompt:Flash fic: As usual, 8 minutes, any genre, any subject, must use all word
prompts: change, time, muscle.
Ats episode: "You're Welcome"
Missed You
Muscles strain as sweat beads his forehead and dampens his bangs but he doesn't take time to wipe it away. His grip is sure and the sound of metal striking metal seems loud in the quiet still of the air. The burn in his arms and across his shoulder blades increases in increments as his opponent changes tactics. He smiles, then grits his teeth and ignores the sensation, his entire being completely focused on the man in front of him, on the next thrust of blade, the next volley of words, the next move of this dance that began so long ago.

May. 1st, 2009 09:13 amI missed Supernatural last night.
I was trying to write but kept getting interuppted and totally forgot it was Thursday.
I doubt if I'll be on much over the weekend.
Last and probably least, I have a dreamwidth account now and have all of one icon uplaoaded. I'm menomegirl over there too, if anyone wants to add me.
Have a nice weekend!

Supernatural Talk
Mar. 18th, 2009 11:00 pmSo...one of the Bronzers has been linking me to some interesting and insightful Supernatural review/discussions that I've found thought-provoking and at times downright funny. Since it's not
su_herald linkable, I thought I'd pass on the link here since so many of you on my flist watch the show.
The site these reviews are on is actually pretty cool. It's called Sequential Tart and it's a site about comics, written by women. Not that I know much about comics myself but that's sort of what the site is for:to raise awareness. They haven't been doing these reviews long but I've quite liked what I've read thus far. This week, they reviewed episode 4.14: Tarts talk about "Sex and Violence".
Let me know if you liked it?
And yeah, I know, I know. Long time, no post. You know what they say about no news being good news? That's kinda me right now.
:)
Hope you're all doing okay.
((hugs))

Some news from Dee
Sep. 30th, 2008 07:06 pmHi,
gingerpig again with an update as she hates the laptop she's using with the fiery passion of a thousand suns *g*
She's still trying to get straight, there's a ton of stuff she's had to dump.
BUT - she's got hot water and electricity and it smells a little better than it did before. And she's got the forms from FEMA and SBA to fill in for grants and assistance so hopefully that won't take to long to come through.
It's slow progress but she's getting there.

Another short, whiny update
Sep. 27th, 2008 10:09 amAfraid this is just another short drive-by. I've been extremely busy this week. We finally got electricity back on Tuesday mid-morning. I have been washing clothes for days, because everything we had got wet from the rain that came into our home from the roof damage. I've also thrown approximately 1/3 of our clothing away because it was ruined. FYI: mildew smells to high heaven, we need to rip out the carpeting and gut both bedrooms and the hallway. We've moved our bedroom furniture in our living room and we're currently sleeping in there. My stupid stove isn't working so I still can't really cook and I suppose that'll have to be replaced as well. But!! We have tarps on the damaged portions of our roof and FEMA inspected it yesterday. So we can finally cut the next door neighbor's oak tree away from the roof and the side of our home. So things are looking up. I suppose.
This drive-by was brought to you by I'm frustrated and ready to chew nails.
Lilah: I just—I just want my life back. All my pretty things. I'm selfish that way.

Just heard from Dee. She's back at home. There's been some damage to her house, but it's not as bad as it could've been. They have a generator for light and they have water.
She's not sure when she'll be back on line, but she'll call me when she can.
Hi, this is
gingerpig
Dee just called me and asked me to leave a note here to let you all know what's going on.
She and her family have evacuated away from Ike. The storm's due to make landfall a little way from where she lives and she might not be back home for a couple weeks.
There's no internet where she's staying so she's going to be off the grid for a while.

Edited to add:
In keeping with the fireworks theme of Algerina's contest, I'm linking this work of fanfiction at the Sunnydale Library for you guys to enjoy. It's an very exceptionally written piece of AU and well worth the read.
Michaela Rose by
alexandrahuxley, Buffy/Riley, PG-13/FRT.
I'd also like to ask that if you enjoyed the story, that you please leave the author some feedback.
There's a sad lack of positive Riley fic out there and it thrills me to find it when I do.
